Investigating through mathematical model the evolutionary path on ecDNA

Hey NetFOLLOWERS! Did you enjoy the holidays?

Our last speaker before the break was Elisa Scanu from Queen Mary University of London, who gave a talk on “Investigating through mathematical model the evolutionary path on ecDNA".

Her research aims to investigate cancer and how it escapes the human body's defenses by hiding oncogenes in small portions of DNA released outside the chromosomes, the ecDNA.

She presented a mathematical model that describes a multiple-species ecDNA evolutionary process and opens the path to a deep understanding of cancer progression and potential new therapeutic strategies.

The talk is available on our YouTube channel. Have you ever worked in an interdisciplinary or international group? Let us know on our Blog thread (Twitter)!
