The roles of supervisor and student in different stages of a PhD in theoretical physics and applied mathematics

Hola NetFOLLOWERS! Last Thursday we had a very special seminar, with @TobiasGalla from @IFISC who shared with us his experience with the process of doing a PhD.

He analysed this topic from the two perspectives of the student and the supervisor, proposing examples of typical stressful situations, frustration, and imposter syndrome. The audience engaged with the discussion, and we all shared our experiences.

Tobias has carefully highlighted that no path is the right one, and we all have different approaches. However, academia can be a very stressful environment and mental health problems are increasing due to the high competitiveness.

The talk from Tobias (link here: https://tinyurl.com/rn3e2pj5) was based on his notes, which you can find here: https://tinyurl.com/25cyj44u . What are your thoughts on the topic? Would you be interested in a special seminar focused on academia-related mental health?
